Phuket Resort and HotelsPhuket is Thailands largest island, approximately the size of Singapore. Phuket nestles in balmy Andaman Sea waters on Thailand’s Indian Ocean coastline 862 kilometers south of Bangkok. Phuket is blessed with magnificent coves and bays, powdery, palm-fringed white beaches, sparkling island-dotted seas, sincerely hospitable people, superb accommodations and seafood, delightful turn-of-the-century Sino-Portuguese architecture; numerous sporting and leisure opportunities; a lush tropical landscape - all of which combine to create a delightful ambience for truly memorable holidays.
The major beaches from north to south are:
- Mai Khao (Sai Kaeo), Phuket - near the airport, very quiet (aside from the planes!) and far away from it all
- Nai Thon and Nai Yang, Phuket - two quiet beaches in Sirinat National Park
- Bang Thao (Laguna Beach), Phuket - long, very quiet beach
- Surin and Pansea Beach, Phuket - an up-and-coming upmarket destination
- Laem Sing, Phuket - small bay with stunning views, between Kamala Beach and Surin Beach
- Kamala Beach, Phuket - a quieter beach to the north of Patong
- Kalim Beach, Phuket - a series of small beaches just to the north of Patong
- Patong Beach, Phuket - the largest beach resort, known for its nightlife
- Karon and Karon Noi Beaches, Phuket - the second most-developed beach after Patong
- Kata Yai Beach, Phuket - busy, clean tourist beach with good surf
- Kata Noi Beach, Phuket - quieter sister of Kata Yai
- Nai Han and Ao Sen, Phuket - a quiet beach (probably the best) in the south, near Phromthep Cape view point
- Ya Nui Beach, Phuket
- Rawai, Mittraphap and Laem Ka, Phuket - set off point for lots of local islands, popular with locals for eating on the beach
- Cape Panwa, Phuket - home to Phuket Aquarium
